Every year, 16+ inner-city
Hartford youths receive a scholarship from St. Ann’s church to attend
private Catholic High School. Catholic schooling benefits these students
in a variety of ways, including smaller class size; more rigorous instruction;
and a nurturing, spiritual atmosphere.
The main funding for the scholarship is the annual parish-wide Tag Sale,
held in October. Private donations and memorials, as well as corporate
awards and matching grants, add to the fund.
A team of committed volunteers, led by Becky Blankenbicker, runs this
huge event every year. For more information, or to volunteer your time
or goods, please call Becky at 673-0291.
